Analyses of Journals

Scientific journal articles are arranged in order to contribute to the theory or application of knowledge. Scientific journal articles are generally composed of a title, abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions and bibliography. As the information, it has the important role in conducting a research. But, something that we have to keep in our mind that we only need to learn and analyze it, not to copy paste. To avoid the plagiarism, something that we need to do is try to analyze the journal deeply first (get the meaning). Then we need to paraphrase it. Now, I would like to analyze several journals related to my future thesis. The following are some of them:


·        The First journal Analyses

Role-play in English Language Teaching

Actually, this research is about experimental study. The researcher choose the sampling of  30 Chinese young man as ESL students, they are students in the same class. The researcher doing the experiment take time around 50 minutes and the sampling will divided into 10 groups first (three members/groups). They are will perform their role play one by one around 5 minutes. After that, all the group must be command the other groups performances. Then, they will discuss it each other.

           After doing the  research, the researcher find out some improvement in some aspect such as vocabulary, grammar, communicative purposes, and teaching procedures. In vocabulary aspect, nearly 21 students (around 70%) implement the new vocabulary freely during the procedure. Then, some students are not use formal language. They do some mistake, but the teacher will correct it. After that, in communicative site around 24 students (80%) can communicate clearly enough in English. The students put their self in a good situation when the class run.

          In the conclusion the researcher try to sum up all the case that they have done before. They researcher states that by implement the methods (role play) is really effective in enhancing speaking skill of the students (participants). That was proved by the improvement of students when the experiment done, even they do some mistake but not a serious mistake. In the other words, the role play is quite useful in English language teaching.

The Effect of Interactional and Transactional Speaking Strategies on Teaching Speaking Skils to Iranian EFL Learners at Senior High School Level

The title of the journal that I chose is “The Effect of Interactional and Transactional Speaking Strategies on Teaching Speaking Skills to Iranian EFL Learners at Senior High School Level”. This research is about experimental study. The aim of this study is to know how far the effect of transactional and interactional strategies to improve the students’ speaking skill. From the study, the researcher used some methods in his research to investigate the effectiveness of interactional and transactional speaking strategies. According to the research, the researcher used quantitative study. We will see it from the data analysis that mention about standard deviation and used SPSS in data collective. The researcher also used the Pretest and post-test to get the solution of the research question. The present study was conducted with the help of 60 students. All of them were the students of the first grade of senior high school. The participants including only females from Farzanegan school of Gachsaran. The participants of the research will divided in three groups, two experimental and one as the controller group.

The finding reveal that the research was done for speaking skill and the effect of transactional and interactional strategy on speaking fluency and accuracy. It would also be useful to use these strategies for reading and vocabulary learning in reading. For the students who get the instruction of transactional did a better spoken interview. In the conclusion, the researcher find out the strategy that he implement it can be useful in speaking skill become better.

The Effects of Using Academic Role-Playing in a Teacher Education

          The methodology of this research is quantitative. It is proved because the researcher use questionnaire in data collection. The participants of the research were undergraduate physical education of American Research University. The researcher intention use the role play because it is take personally meaningful for the sampling/participants.

          The questionnaire sheet that the researcher divide to the participants consist around 14 questions. But, only six questions that will retained for analyses. From all the questions, the participants answering that the role play is really useful. According to their answers, we can conclude that using role play is better than anything else. The researcher find out the role play technique will make the participants effective in their practicing also .

In the conclusion, the researcher conclude that the role play is effective for the participants.  By using this technique, they can improve course interaction between instructors to students and students to students. Therefore, it will improving the active learning dynamic in a university classroom.

Role-play as a pedagogical method to prepare students
for practice: The students’ voice

     The research purpose is to discuss about how and why role play method have the important role in the participant’s working life, it is talk about leadership. Actually, this research is qualitative research.  The sampling of this study are the students of university BS program (Healthy Organizations). The activities was divided in two occasion. First in 2009 around 17 students and then in 2011 around 24. The researcher implement the technique first, then she will ask them some question of their point of view about role playing, is it worth it for them or not?

In the finding of this research, the researcher explain that the answers/responses of the students about role playing is quite useful for them. Not only that, they also mentioned if it has beneficial effect on learning. For the participants, role playing  put the in the real situation that can actually take place at an organization. The assume that role play more realistic than theoretical technique in learning.

          In the conclusion, the researcher conclude that role play has impacts on the participants perspective, collective understanding, and sense of their community. According to data responses of the sampling, the researcher conclude that role-play may become a pedagogical method which is fun and educational. So, I think it is quite useful to implement it in the learning process because role play has many positive effects for the learners/students.
